AT Series: Sams Gap 47

Pleasant 47 mile loop starting just off I-26 exit 3, this route climbs the easy side of Sams Gap into Tennessee, then the easy side of Devil Fork back into North Carolina's Shelton Laurel valley. For variety it transits the lower Big Laurel watershed on Revere Road before the long gradual creek-side climb to the starting point. The two intersections with the Appalachian Trail are coincident with the state line. Regrouping after climbs, store stop at mile 22
