A ride though Jacks Creek Toe River west of Burnsville with an added out and back to make miles. This is a casual pace ride. Its about distance not speed. Likely to be between 11 and 13 MPH overall average speed no drop.

Beech Glen Community Center
Don‘t forget to change your clocks! The usual loops with some additional options that we‘ll discuss in the parking lot. A mellow C pace with plenty of regrouping.
Point Lookout Mtn Triple, https://ridewithgps.com/routes/44754015. Ride through apple orchards and climb Lamb Mtn Rd (2 miles with an average grade of 4.7%) then climb Gilliam Mtn Rd (1 mile with an average grade of 8.2%). After a rest stop at mile 22.5 and some moderate terrain the route tackles a climb up Bald Rock Rd (1.9 miles with an average grade of 4.2%). The Oleta Rd climb (1.5 miles with an average grade of 4.2%) is the final climb on the route.

Mars Hill Recreation Park
This is a NO-DROP ride as much as possible, with an expected average speed around 12 mph. We will regroup at major turning points.
This is a beautiful ride, taking in scenery of the Beech Glen and Gabriels Creek areas, with a fair number of ups and downs.
This is a short route, but, averaging 91 ft of climbing per mile, it is not without its charms.
Rides starts at Etowah Park. Ride into Hendersonville for a coffee stop, then continue back via Davis Mountain Road. C Pace, No Drop

Join us at Liberty Bikes to learn about our bike trips in Italy & France in 2024. This year we are offering an E-bike tour in the Piedmont Region of Italy as well as a Gravel Bike Tour in Tuscany (E-bikes provided unless you want to bring your own gravel bike). The route follows a flat route to Rosman then attacks the Old Toxaway climb.
We then loop back to Rosman by way of Frozen Creek.

Parking lot of old Kitsbow Ride House and Hillman Beer
No Drop ride starts from the parking lot of what was the Kitsbow Ride House (now closed). The route traverses three counties with rolling hills and mountain scenery. The initial descent on Cedar Creek has now been paved so there is no gravel section.
Thursday "follow the leader" ride starting from Mills River Brewing Co.
Around 35 to 40 miles or so
Social no-drop pace (13-15 mph average)

Ingles Market - Mills River
Ride details will be sent on Thursday, but will start from the Ingles in Mills River.
From the park, we will ride along the south and then north forks of the river. Rolling hills, target pace will be 11 mph. No one will get dropped.
Afterwards, join the bday celebration for Janet and others turning 70 in 2023 at Appalachian Mt Brewery.
Glady Fork East Fork 41, https://ridewithgps.com/routes/31823341. The route follows relatively flat roads to Rosman then up Glady Fork Rd and East Fork Rd to Crane Lane and back by way of the "easy" side of Walnut Hollow Rd.
Ride through apple orchards to Flat Rock. Then return by a big western loop past Carl Sandberg‘s estate and over Jones Gap/Indian Cove (Cave).

Ingles Market - Mills River
Non-categorized ride taking place through the relatively flat countryside of Mills River and Etowah. After the ride please enjoy beverage/food at Appalachian Mountain Brewery (AMB) across the street. Sweet treat provided.
This is a tough metric+ route that I cobbled together using 3 shorter routes. There is enough climbing overall to consider it a Half Burner I think.
There will be a rest stop at the new On Your Bike Cafe/Bike Shop in Marshall (about mile 24) and an optional stop (slightly off course) at the Exxon near I-26 in Mars Hill (about mile 45).
In total this is a 65.5 mile route with 5,095 ft of climbing (says ridewithgps). There are no super long climbs but there are 9 climbs of more than one mile so there is no lack of climbing on this route.
The weather looks to be nice with expected temperature in the mid-high 50s at ride start and reaching only a high of about 64.
Rescheduled from Friday to Thursday due to rain forecast on Friday. This easygoing ride follows the Pigeon River from Canton Recreation Park. Pace can be 12-13.5 mph depending on the group. No one will be dropped.

Most of the climbing is in two long climbs, both of which reward you with great descents, especially Mt. Hebron/Pine Cove. This is a No-Drop ride with regrouping. Probably an 11:00 AM start, but look for the email. Expect about 13-13.5 MPH average pace.
Brevard Coffee Ride, https://ridewithgps.com/routes/19437616. The route follows the river valleys between Etowah and Brevard. Planned stop at Bracken Mtn Bakery in Brevard.

Tennessee Welcome Center, I-26 exit 46 (8 miles north of NC state line)
Starting at the Tennessee Welcome Center on I-26, climbs Spivey Creek into North Carolina west of the Nolichucky River Gorge, traverses Toe River tributaries to Beuladean, then climbs Iron Mountain back into TN and returns to the welcome center via relatively flat miles through Erwin. Regrouping after climbs, store stop at mile 26. 64 miles, 5000‘ climbing
MRB-JumpOff-43, https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45006182. From Mills River Brewing ride through Mills River and Etowah up to Jump Off Rock (very nice view). Then descend through Laurel Park and return via Davis Mtn Rd.

Beech Glen Community Center
Burn off those extra calories you consumed on Thanksgiving day with a casual 27 + mile romp though Beech Glen Paint Fork etc. Pace should be between 12 - 13 MPH.
Start time at 1 PM to take advantage of the warmer Temps. Starting at Beech Glen Rec Center. Mars Hill.
Tryon Horse Farm 42, https://ridewithgps.com/routes/29034026. The route follows back roads through NC and SC horse country. Lots of rollers and short climbs. No "extreme" gradients.
Guion Farm trailhead off of Sky Valley Rd
The full Guion Farm Loop is 14.8 miles and 1,324‘ gain. There is the option to shorten it by going up Buck Forest Road after we complete Rocky Ridge, Hickory Mtn, Ridgeline and Jim Branch. Plan on 2 - 3 hours of ride (moving) time.
Tablerock State Park Visitors Center
We‘re heading to the warmer SC Roads for a 36-mile no-drop ride that goes through Nine Times Preserve and by the historic Hagood Mill. First Congregational Church
This ride starts at the First Congregational Church across from Southern Streams Coffeehouse in Hendersonville. It‘s mostly on low traffic volume roads through Laurel Park and Etowah. This return route includes Jones Gap.

Looking to get out in warmer temps? We are planning a 30ish mile ride starting out of Dula Springs. Pace expected to be 11-13 with 77 feet per mile climbing. No hurry on the climbs This is a no drop ride. W‘Ville North - C & S 30 is the route name. However, we will be starting from Dula Springs instead of downtown Weaverville. Come join the Weaverville Climbing snails for a pleasant casual ride with some climbing challenges.
