The Blue Ridge Bicycle Club (BRBC) was started as an Asheville bike club over 30 years ago but seeking a regional voice in cycling matters, it has grown to serve a six county area in Western North Carolina: Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson, Madison, Transylvania and Yancy. We are 501(c)(3) non-profit organization advocating for cycling related issues and promoting healthy and fun lifestyles through cycling.
Henderson, Transylvania and Haywood County representatives regularly attend the BRBC Board meetings.
In addition, on January 1, 2012 Bicycle Haywood NC became a chapter of the BRBC. This unique relationship has allowed Bicycle Haywood to benefit from the non-profit status of BRBC while maintaining the organization in an autonomous manner. It also allows Bicycle Haywood to partner with BRBC to amplify the voice for bicycling advocacy.
As a chapter of the BRBC, Bicycle Haywood NC:
- Has their own chair person, vice-chair person and additional board members
- A portion of the Bicycle Haywood dues support the overall structure of the BRBC with the remainder of either individual or family dues supporting the extended mission of BHNC.
- Meet at Birdie Lounge, located in Waynesville Country Club directly across from the Pro Shop on the third Tuesday of the month.
