Biography
My legal name is Robert, but I go by Arlin. (If you've known me for more than 20 years then you know me as Bob.)
I bought my first derailleur bike in 1970, and my first mountain bike in 1983. I became active with the BRBC in the 1990s and served as its president at the end of that decade. During my tenure with the club I accomplished a few things, including monthly trail maintenance and leading a different road ride every week during the summer. I designed a new club jersey (the first one with bright yellow on top and blue mountains below) and helped design what is still the club logo.
I had health problems that severely limited my riding ability during the last 20-some years, but I am happy to say that I am back on the bike. Back in the day I was a C-level cyclist, but I am currently near the bottom of the new classification system. I like to ride alone or with one or two other people. Although my bike is called a gravel bike, I like pavement. I no longer own a mountain bike.
