Multiple-level rides starting at Tuxedo Park. Be sure to check the parking section below!
The Tuxedo Park shelter has been reserved. Bring a goodie for the group and we'll have cold drinks, snacks, and sweet treats after the ride! We will continue our annual fundraising for Tuxedo Park Improvement by purchasing personalized bricks.
RIDE DESCRIPTONS: Click on your selected route link to see ride description on the RWGPS map. If you don't see the RideWithGPS map, go to Ride with GPS instructions. Always ensure you have the route and are fully self-sufficient to complete the ride on your own. Have the ride leader's cell number so you can communicate if you have a mechanical or if dropped.
PARKING CONSIDERATIONS: Parking available at the start. Please do not park in the area next to the bathrooms! Joe Sanders has arranged with the Church adjoining Tuxedo Park to use their parking lot. Please use the Church parking lot as directed (Joe will be there to steer you in the right direction). After the ride we will "pass the hat" for donations to the church as a "Thank You" for their wonderful support!
WEATHER: We do not plan to send out any cancellation emails, so decide for yourself if the conditions are safe for riding. You always have the option of starting at a different time or do the stage on a different day. If the ride leader decides not to ride due to weather they won’t show up & it will be up to you to decide if you want to do the ride on your own at the scheduled time or a later time.
HYDRATION, NOURISHMENT AND AVAILABILITY OF RESTROOMS: Restrooms and water available at start.
EQUIPMENT: Helmets and water bottles are mandatory. Have the route on your bike computer, phone, or printed cue sheet. Front facing headlights and rear blinking lights are highly recommended for this ride and required on the Blue Ridge Parkway unless appropriate reflectors are attached. Your bike must be equipped with the necessary lights or reflectors in accordance with applicable North Carolina and federal law and statutes governing bicycles. You should be fully self-sufficient for repair of flat tires or small mechanical issues.
NOTE: All rides leave promptly at the time stated. Give yourself enough time (at least fifteen minutes) to get your bike unloaded and all geared up!
If you are not a BRBC member, please sign the waiver prior to the ride and let the ride leader know. Waiver and Release of Liability
