About this event

RIDE NAME:    Fruitland Applesauce 32

RWGPS LINK: CCC Fruitland Applesauce

RIDE DESCRIPTION: Level 2/3 ride targeting 15mph. Excited to partner with Cane Creek Components and the face of the new Open to the Public Space, Craig Tamburello. Chilly start around freezing, with temps climbing steadily to around 50 by the end of the ride. I'm headed to Auction House for lunch afterwards!

LEVEL EXPLANATION: Levels 2/3

The pace will range from 12-18.5 mph depending on the elevation (see the Pace Classification Grid).  The length of these road rides will typically range from 40-75 miles with rest stops or regrouping at intervals of 20-35 miles.  Pacelines may be used.

PARKING CONSIDERATIONS:    We'll park to the left of the building in the larger parking lot.

HYDRATION, NOURISHMENT AND AVAILABILITY OF RESTROOMS:   For now assuming no facilities at Cane Creek, come fully prepared. Rest stop at MM18, Griffins Gas Station on Chimney Rock Rd.

EQUIPMENT: Helmets and water bottles are mandatory. Have the route on your bike computer, phone, or printed cue sheet. Front-facing headlights and rear blinking lights are highly recommended for this ride unless appropriate reflectors are attached. Your bike must be equipped with the necessary lights or reflectors in accordance with applicable North Carolina and federal law and statutes governing bicycles. You should be fully self-sufficient for repair of flat tires or small mechanical issues. NOTE: All rides leave promptly at the time stated. Give yourself enough time (at least fifteen minutes) to get your bike unloaded and all geared up!
