About this event
We'll leave from Trailside Brewing and ride through apple orchards and climbs Lamb Mtn Road and descends Gilliam Mtn Road with a final climb up Oleta Road. Convenience store (Griffin's Grocery) rest stop (with bathroom) at 19 miles.
Dawn is targeting a 14.5 mph avg pace (slower climbing, faster descending), pace level 4. We'll regroup at the rest stop and as needed. Always ensure you have the route, can ride a Level 4 pace, and are fully self-sufficient to complete the ride on your own and have the ride leader's cell number if dropped.
Registration is optional - so others can see who is riding.
EQUIPMENT: Helmets are mandatory. Have the route on your bike computer or phone. Daytime front and rear blinking lights are highly recommended for all rides. You should be fully self-sufficient for repair of flat tires or small mechanical issues.
WEATHER: Please remember if the weather looks "iffy" or gets bad before the start date and time, then the ride leaders may not be there and you will be riding on your own. Western NC (and SC) is a very large area and some places could be sunshine and other places bad weather.
