RIDE DESCRIPTONS: Click on your selected route link to see ride description on the RWGPS map. Always ensure you have the route and are fully self-sufficient to complete the ride on your own. Have the ride leader's cell number if dropped so you can let them know.
PARKING CONSIDERATIONS: Parking available at the start. Park in the grass "overflow" lot on the left. Do not park in the paved area near the pavilion, please leave those spots clear for Oskar Blues customers. It isn't fair for us to hog those spots for hours at a time!
WEATHER: We do not plan to send out any cancellation emails, so decide for yourself if the conditions are safe for riding. You always have the option of starting at a different time or do the stage on a different day. If the ride leader decides not to ride due to weather they won’t show up & it will be up to you to decide if you want to do the ride on your own at the scheduled time or a later time. Always check the calendar for last-minute updates!
HYDRATION, NOURISHMENT AND AVAILABILITY OF RESTROOMS: Restrooms and water available at start. Stay after the ride for a meal & a brew!
EQUIPMENT: Helmets and water bottles are mandatory. Have the route on your bike computer, phone, or printed cue sheet. Front facing headlights and rear blinking lights are highly recommended for this ride and required on the Blue Ridge Parkway unless appropriate reflectors are attached. Your bike must be equipped with the necessary lights or reflectors in accordance with applicable North Carolina and federal law and statutes governing bicycles. You should be fully self-sufficient for repair of flat tires or small mechanical issues.
NOTE: All rides leave promptly at the time stated. Give yourself enough time (at least fifteen minutes) to get your bike unloaded and all geared up! Always check the calendar for last-minute updates!
If you are not a BRBC member, please sign the waiver prior to the ride and let the ride leader know. Waiver and Release of Liability
