We will ride from Dula Springs in a straight shot to Burnsville (Old Mars Hill Hwy, Beach Glen, Paint Fork), where we will intersect with the Jacks Creek 50 route. We will then ride the Jacks Creek 50 route and return to Weaverville the same way we came out.

This is about a 93 mile route with slightly less than 4,300 ft of climbing. So the total amount of climbing isn't so bad (less than 50 ft/mile) but we will have to traverse the "Paint Fork Wall" on the way out (it's not nearly as bad coming back).

I would like to treat this as a Long Steady Distance ride and keep the pace at Level 2/3. This should hopefully allow the group to stay together except perhaps when traversing the Paint Fork Ridge.

There will be three rest stops - Rest Stop #1 (about mile 22) and #3 (about mile 71) at Prices Creek General Store, first when entering the Jack's Creek 50 route and second when exiting it (about mile 22 and 71). There will also be the standard Jack's Creek 50 rest stop at the Red Hill Store at about mile 53.

The weather looks to be nice - but warming up to the mid-80s. Thus we will start fairly early to beat the heat as much as possible.

Although we will try to keep the group together and ride consistently, this is officially a DROP ride. I would expect an average speed of about 18mph.
