– Black Mountain ?Old Fort ?Point Lookout Trail
Starting in downtown Black Mountain, we hop onto the paved River Loop trail before starting the climb up Hwy 9 and crossing the Continental Divide. A snack break at gas station in Old Fort at 26 miles. Option to skip the 4-mile out-n-back to Andrews Geyser, dropping the mileage to 31 miles. Next, we climb 4 miles up Point Lookout Trail which is a bike/pedestrian trail and the former Highway 70. Midway we’ll stop at the overlook at the flagpole/benches, to gaze at the mountain beauty and photo op. We end with a fun downhill back to Tractor Supply.
