Ride the Fletcher Flyer

The second decade of the Fletcher Flyer will have a new start/finish location:  Oscar Blues Brewery in Brevard, NC.  What better way to spend the day than with a Bike Ride, Bluegrass, BBQ, and a Brew (or Root Beer Float Shooters)!

Like last year, the offering includes the full, metric, half century, and thirty mile rides which wind through the valleys south of Asheville, NC. Although it is the least hilly ride in Western North Carolina, it has plenty of rolling hills to keep all riders interested. There is beautiful mountain scenery without the long mountain climbs.

The 2014 Fletcher Flyer offers four rolling routes through the beautiful hills of western North Carolina

Full Century - 100 miles, 4721' of climb

Metric Century - 62 miles, 2466' of climb

Half Century - 50 miles, 2177' of climb

Fletcher Lite - 30 miles, 1136' of climb

Ride for Better Cycling

Presented by the Blue Ridge Bicycling Club (BRBC) and the WNC Bicycle Dealers Association (WNCBDA)

Proceeds go to the BRBC's cycling advocacy programs and the WNCBDA's promotion of bicycling

Over the last 10 years, over $120,000 of BRBC event profits have been spent on WNC cycling advocacy programs.

Your support will help us promote safe and enjoyable bike routes in WNC

New this year:  Profits will also be shared with Trips for Kids WNC, providing mountain bike rides to the youth of Western North Carolina, and Friends of the Ecusta Trail, a proposed rails-to-trails project that will connect Hendersonville and Brevard.

Team in Training

Riders from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society s Team in Training (TNT) program will ride in the Fletcher Flyer again this year

Since 1988, more than 420,000 volunteer TNT participants have raised over $1 billion for research and patient services.
