Biography
I'm passionate about riding bikes. I started as an adult riding mountain bikes in 1988 and I got my first road bike in 1990; I rode 219 miles N to S 1993 and 1994 and S to N 1995 across NJ in one day; in 1995 climbed Mount Haleakala, the longest paved road climb in the world, 10023 ft in 38 miles; won the NJ MTB series NORBA Masters in 1995 and 1996; ranked #1 Master mountain bike racer for the North Atlantic Region by NORBA in 1996; I moved to WNC in 1997 and joined the bike club. I won the 1st race I participated in that year at Wolf Laure ski resort; l won NC/SC Cane Creek MTB Championship series Masters in 2000; I've done 4 bike tours with Santana Adventures: Tulip Tour visiting Holland, Belgium and Germany; Italy: Venice to Bari; The Big River Tour: Memphis to New Orleans and The Columbia River in Washington. I did a bike 7 day hut to hut tour from Durango to Moab. Started leading mountain bike rides with the club just as Covid-19 hit the country in early 2020.
