What is this?
23.6 mi / 2358 ft elevation

This route substitutes for the Old Fort-Point Lookout ride as the Point Lookout trail is still undergoing repairs.

This is a NO-DROP Ride, with an overall average speed of 12-15 mph, going slower on climbs, faster on flats or downhills.

Depart from Ingles with an immediate climb up Hwy. 9 to the Continental Divide. Thereafter, we'll make a large loop through hills, farmland, and forest before descending Hwy. 9 back into Black Mountain. The initial 3 mile on highway 9 out of Black Mountain can be busy. While the ride is relatively short, it comes in at 100 ft/mi, so it is not without its challenges.

Always ensure you have the route and are fully self-sufficient to complete the ride on your own and have the ride leader's cell number if dropped.
