Black Mountain Riverwalk Trail
The Black Mountain Greenway Commission is raising money to help with the development of the Riverwalk Trail which is an important part of our Greenway System. Part of that trail is in place behind Bi-Lo. The town of Black Mountain and the Board of Aldermen are totally behind this project and have committed to see it through. The Greenway Commission has committed to raise the money needed to do the design for the crossing under the rail trestle and for fees required by Norfolk Southern to begin their review. This is a key portion of the project.
We need your help. The Blue Ridge Bicycle Club has offerred to match donations to this project up to $4000. Friends of Connect Buncombe has already donated $2000 dollars to the cause. We are now reaching out to the community to help raise the rest. Please show your support and help us out! Not only will your donation be matched, but you will be showing our community that you support greenway development in Black Mountain! This campaign will run during the months of April and May.
And thanks to your help, BRBC donated $8,325 from 14 donations and $4,000 in matching funds from the BRBC!
