Monthly newsletter?

Hey Dave,

I think a softer image for the background photos would make the text easier to read...if that is possible. Perhaps by a % screen of the image. Thanks for the work you have undertaken to update the website. It feels more useful.

Hi Dave:

I do see the newsletter under "Members". I like the calendar layout of past newsletters.

IMO, talking ideal world here, the home page would change when you log in so the stuff under the "Members" menu item would be featured. For example the "Club News" would have a link to the most recent newsletter since it is, by definition, club news. However such fancy behavior probably wouldn't have enough benefit for enough people to justify the effort.

As a simpler improvement, the items in "Members" menu drop down - which have a grab bag feel now - could be in alphabetical order or perhaps organized into groups. So if I'm looking for something I'll have an intuition about where to find it. I didn't look at the other drop downs but I'd think the same applies there.

WRT the background photos, the only other one I noticed a problem with is the background for the index at the bottom where the bright white background makes the yellow text hard to read.

Thanks for all you are doing!

Hi Robert, thanks so much for the feedback.

Re: newsletters archive...it exists (all the way back to 2012!), but you do have to be a member and logged-in to your account to access it since the Board decided website access to the newsletters archive would be available to members only.

Once logged-in, look for the "Newsletters" tile under the "Welcome Members" section, or "Newsletters" under the "Members" tab in the main menu. Neither of these options will be available if you don't log-in first!

Since you report you were logged-in, I guess those were the two places you didn't look? If, once logged-in, these options are not available to you please comment again here.

Re: background photos making reading text difficult at times...agreed, anytime background photos are used this can be an issue. The photos definitely look better in full color, and that is my preference, but that can cause the issue identified. The only instance I'm aware of is the "New Members" scroll in the "Welcome Members" section, and yes, I did accept a compromise there because one can scroll the text to where it can easily be read. Did you find more instances?

The new website has a great look and feel. I logged in to read the last newsletter but its not listed under "News" on the right, or anywhere else I could think of looking. Maybe we could have a newsletter archive that has the current and past newsletters listed in reverse chronological order?

My only other suggestion, although I'm on the fence about it, is that background photos in the main panel that have text over them be washed out a bit more. On the fence because you can generally scroll the text to some section of the photo that doesn't have a dark background...

Good Job!
